Food Zone Partners have gathered in Caceres, Spain between the 8th and 10th of February 2023 to kick off the project, hosted by the coordinators Caceres Chamber of Commerce and
FOOD ZONE aims to support skill development of owners and managers in food SMEs, micro-enterprises, and start-ups (including farmers or producers of local and regional food products) by connecting them to the tourism ecosystem through the development of regenerative and sustainable tourism experiences. The project is also looking at making opportunities in higher education and vocational education and training more flexible by adapting them to the labour market needs of the tourism sector.
FOOD ZONE is the response to multiple skills gaps of professionals in the food tourism sector, which is fast becoming a key sector for post-Covid tourism recovery, but also requires rapid adoption of regenerative practises.
