In 2016, Aris and Marianna returned to Cyprus to embark on a new craft distillery project. After a 2 year period of research, planning, and lots of problem-solving, they started putting together their own craft distillery early in 2019 and finally began operations on 01/01/2020.
This new type of craft distillery is focused on better, more accurate, and more advanced distilling process methods, with more quality controls thus minimising guesswork and chance. This is what Aristides Distilling calls the new age of craft distilling.
Committed to producing only high-quality spirits, the inspiration, and raw ingredients mostly come from the beautiful island of Cyprus. This type of commitment requires hard work, creativity, expertise, and above all attention to detail. Small batches of spirits, produced with lots of passion! Tours are also available for tourists. During the tour the distilling procedure is explained while visitors have the opportunity to taste the products.
The business has significant benefits mainly in the social, economic and cultural aspects. At first, it has contributed to the change of the perception that Cyprus cannot manufacture a wide variety of spirits of the highest quality capable of promoting the island as a hub in the general region attracting visitors who will have the opportunity to see, enjoy, and to learn. The business vision is to highlight all the local sources, all the rich aromas and flavors of Cyprus in all the spirits created, working together with local raw material producers to present the best tasting spirits. Additionally, it has created job positions in the countryside and at the same time supports the local economy by buying raw material from local producers.
The quality and uniqueness of the products are identified as the most important factors for the success of this business. Spirits exclusively made with raw ingredients found in the Cypriot countryside with distinct tastes and aromas. Aristides Distilling succeeds in involving tourists in the production of unique spirits produced at the distillery, made exclusively out of Cypriot raw ingredients. During the tour the distilling procedure is explained while visitors have the opportunity to taste the products. Small batches of high quality spirits imbued with the island’s flavors and tastes.
