BRUGAROL

(Europe)

BRUGAROL, a regenerative tourism project in Catalonia, Spain, was launched in 2013 to integrate sustainable agriculture, hospitality and tourism. It officially opened in 2018 and runs a diversified agricultural business with a market garden, a farm and the production of jam and olive oil. In addition, BRUGAROL is involved in the hospitality industry, including hotels and restaurants, as well as wine production, following the philosophy “From our garden to your home”.

By selling directly tothe consumer and producing value-added products, BRUGAROL aims to build a sustainable and profitable business that benefits both the local community and the environment. Key elements include Finca Bell lloc, a farm-to-table restaurant with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced produce, and Celler Brugarol, an organic wine cellar with a focus on sustainability. The estate offers various activities for guests, such as wine tastings, farm tours and cooking classes.

Les Heras, a boutique hotel in BRUGAROL, invites guests to explore the region and savour farm-to-table cuisine. Overall, BRUGAROL embodies a holistic and regenerative approach to tourism by showcasing sustainable agricultural practises and preserving the natural beauty of Catalonia.

Benefits

BRUGAROL’s business model is founded on principles of sustainability and responsible tourism. The farm uses organic agriculture practices to promote soil health and biodiversity and sources its products locally to support the local economy and reduce carbon emissions from transportation. The boutique hotel and restaurant also prioritise sustainability and locally sourced ingredients and offer guests a unique opportunity to experience rural life and farm-to-table cuisine.
In short, BRUGAROL’s business model offers regenerative benefits that support the community and the region’s economic, social, and environmental sustainability. By promoting sustainable practices, BRUGAROL contributes to the regeneration of the region’s natural and social systems.

Key Success

BRUGAROL’s success also relies on its commitment to sustainability and regenerative practices, its ability to integrate multiple components into a cohesive and sustainable business model and their ability to create a unique and memorable customer experience.
