Best Practices

Ibiti

Brazil

(Non European countries)

Ibiti is a hotel located in the Fazenda do Engenho (Mill Farm), built in 1984. Today it has more than 6,000 hectares of land in the process of rewilding – the recovery of native flora and fauna – and also assumes a social commitment. Based on regenerative tourism, they invest in the economic sustainability of the region. They are also committed with the ‘farm to table’ concept, selecting food from organic and seasonal ingredients, from their own production.

Benefits

At Ibiti, they offer various activities to the community: horse riding, yoga, open-air cinema, experimental gastronomy, ecology classes. These activities involve the community and create a sense of belonging, as well as increasing knowledge and awareness of the importance of preserving the environment.

They also have several environmental projects to protect animals and species and projects that involve and connect the local community and entrepreneurs in a collaborative system. The projects benefit the community and have to be ‘adopted’ by a sponsor.

Key Success

Ibiti is very concerned about preserving nature and the environment for present and future generations.

Ibiti also promotes the creation of projects through partnerships with companies and supporters who share its vision and values.
