Best Practices

Vía Orgánica

Mexico

(Non European countries)

VÍA REGENERATIVA Y ORGÁNICA A.C. or VÍA ORGÁNICA A.C (VO) is a Mexican non-profit organisation. Its mission is to promote healthy eating habits through the promotion of knowledge and practice of organic, regenerative agriculture, fair trade, a healthy lifestyle and the protection of the planet. VO achieves this by designing tours and experiences that prioritise sustainable practices such as conserving natural resources through regenerative and organic farming, education, and supporting local businesses through local food markets and a menu “from farm to table” at their estate restaurant.

VO offers a variety of sustainable food tourism experiences and educational programs that highlight organic farming, agroecology, and nature-based activities.

Benefits

VO’s educational programmes, food tourism experiences and social media outreach provide individuals and communities with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices. VO’s actions to support local farmers, use natural resources responsibly and sustainably, promote local food systems, reduce transport-related carbon emissions and promote community resilience all follow the same principle: to protect the planet and lead to regenerative benefits in their local ecosystem and community. VO’s business model (organic and regenerative farming practices and educational outreach) has an overall positive effect on the local ecosystem and local agriculture helps support the local economy and therefore the livelihoods of the local community.

Key Success

The critical success factors of VO may include:
– a strong mission and vision that guides its actions and serves as a driving force behind its activities; and
– their partnerships and collaborations that help movilize resources and share knowledge and expertise that contribute to its overall success.
